Make Business Central Work for Your Factory.

Reliable planning. Accurate inventory. Connected production. Financial visibility.

Business Central can be a powerful manufacturing platform. But when production BOMs, planning parameters, transactions, and shop-floor processes do not align, the factory pays the price.

Zenthesys combines manufacturing operations leadership with an ERP-first diagnostic discipline to turn Business Central into a more dependable operating system.

Process first. Configuration second. Customization only when justified.

02 / Recognition

Business Central is running. Why is the factory still running on spreadsheets?

When the transaction system and physical operation disagree, the symptoms appear everywhere: planning meetings, shortage lists, warehouse aisles, production orders, and monthly financial close.

01 / PLANNING↝

MRP changes its mind every day.

Planners work through action messages and spreadsheet overrides instead of executing a stable plan.

02 / ENGINEERING◇

BOMs and routings cannot be trusted.

Incorrect components, revisions, or standards flow into material purchases, shortages, and cost calculations.

03 / PRODUCTION▤

Production status lives on a whiteboard.

Output, consumption, scrap, and work-center activity are posted late—or not at all.

04 / INVENTORY⌁

System inventory is missing on the floor.

Book quantities disagree with physical stock or the material is not at the point of use.

05 / FINANCE≋

Reported product margins look wrong.

Unexamined labor, overhead, item charges, or production entries undermine confidence in actual costs.

06 / ADOPTION↗

Operators avoid ERP transactions.

Workflow friction pushes work outside the system, making data quality worse with each shift.

Often, the answer is not another ERP implementation. It is aligning the processes, data, configuration, and management discipline around the system you already own.

03 / Core capabilities

Five places where manufacturing ERP performance is won—or lost.

Our initial Business Central offering focuses on the operational foundations that determine whether material, production, and cost information can be trusted.

01

BOM, routing & master data integrity

Production BOM structures, revisions, units of measure, routing and work-center standards, item governance, and controlled engineering changes.

Operational outcome

A dependable product and manufacturing data foundation.

02

MRP & production planning reliability

Planning parameters, reordering policies, dampeners, lot sizing, lead times, production demand, action-message discipline, and constraint awareness.

Operational outcome

More actionable plans with fewer avoidable shortages and schedule disruptions.

03

Manufacturing execution & shop-floor integration

Production orders, component consumption, operation output, scrap, timely transactions, operator workflows, barcode use, and adoption controls.

Operational outcome

Production records that reflect what actually happened on the floor.

04

Inventory, warehouse & supply chain control

Cycle counts, bins, material staging, warehouse movements, supplier parameters, subcontracted operations, and item tracking.

Operational outcome

Stronger inventory confidence and more reliable material flow.

05

Manufacturing costing & financial integrity

Expected versus actual costs, consumption and output entries, capacity costs, WIP, landed costs, inventory valuation, and inventory-to-GL reconciliation.

Operational outcome

Manufacturing cost and margin information leadership can defend.

EXTENDED CAPABILITY

Quality & traceability

Fit-gap assessments for inspection, quarantine, nonconformance, item tracing, and Business Central quality extensions.

EXTENDED CAPABILITY

Capacity & subcontracting

Constrained-resource setup, external operations, vendor material flows, and appropriate scheduling extensions.

EXTENDED CAPABILITY

Automation & intelligence

Power BI, Power Platform, proven ISVs, and AI use cases—after core manufacturing transactions are trustworthy.

04 / Solution architecture

Don't customize what a better process or smarter configuration can solve.

New software can be the right answer. It should not be the first assumption. Zenthesys evaluates options in a disciplined order that protects operating value and reduces unnecessary implementation complexity.

Correct the operating process.

Define how the work should actually flow.

Repair data and native configuration.

Use the system capabilities already available.

Evaluate proven extensions.

Assess Microsoft tools and specialized ISVs.

Build only what is justified.

Use targeted integrations with accountable controls.

The objective is not the most customized system. It is the simplest dependable solution to the manufacturing problem.

12 / Frequently asked questions

Questions manufacturing leaders ask before they make the next ERP decision.

Why does Business Central generate so many MRP action messages?

Frequent action messages can reflect inaccurate lead times, reordering policies, lot-sizing settings, unstable demand, inventory data or planning run assumptions. The first step is to trace the recommendations to underlying parameters and transactions, not suppress all exceptions indiscriminately.

Can Business Central account for constrained production capacity?

Business Central supports capacity-constrained resources and related planning settings, but this is not the same as an advanced finite-capacity optimization engine. The right solution depends on the number of constraints, routing quality, scheduling complexity and operating process.

Do we need Business Central Premium for manufacturing?

Business Central Premium includes manufacturing functionality such as production BOMs, routings and production orders. Essentials provides inventory, purchasing and other capabilities, but not the same native production-manufacturing feature set. Verify the current licensing terms and any extension dependencies before making a purchase decision.

Can we improve Business Central without replacing it or building custom software?

Often, yes. Better master data, configuration, transaction discipline and operating standards can eliminate many sources of friction. Extensions and integrations should be assessed against a defined gap after native options and process improvements have been evaluated.

Does Zenthesys work alongside our existing Microsoft implementation partner?

Yes. Zenthesys is positioned to provide manufacturing operating-model design, data and process diagnostics, operational testing and improvement leadership while platform specialists handle technical development, complex integrations or licensing as appropriate.

Can Power Apps and Power BI connect the shop floor to Business Central?

They can support useful operator workflows and decision visibility when designed around authorized Business Central APIs, security and transaction controls. For some scenarios, native mobile scanning, built-in reports or proven ISV tools may be simpler than custom development.

What happens during a Zenthesys Manufacturing Diagnostic?

We define the operational symptoms, review available data and workflows, identify the likely root causes, assess the business impact, and prioritize corrective actions. A paid diagnostic can then validate assumptions through representative transaction and configuration evidence.
